This week (and last) were action-packed for the nuts. Four of us united for the Beyonce and Jay-Z concert in Toronto, Meghan welcomed a new family member, and Kate returned to us from Europe just in time to celebrate her birthday. Here’s to a lovely Friday and a sun-filled weekend, in a nutshell!
It was a week full of birthdays for Catherine. Her mom, sister in law, close friend and, of course, Kate (!) all celebrated this week and she was there to ring in each one!
Located 10 seconds from her front door, Jess has discovered her favourite little nook in Toronto: Draper Street. With just over two handfuls of heritage row houses, this charming downtown secret boasts colourful doors, stunning detailing and some of the best blooms in the city.
Back to the rat race for Kate this week. After a couple of long days, home cookin’ was out of the question. Instead? Takeout tacos from El Camino and an olde fashioned Harvey & Vern’s Root Beer. Delicious.
The highlight of Meghan’s week has been spending time with the newest member of her family, Winston! This little guy came home on Monday and is winning over the hearts of everyone he meets (with the exception of #jasperthecat – that relationship is a work in progress.)

Any day that involves a visit from the Ottawa nuts is undoubtedly a highlight of the week …add Beyonce to that? Highlight of the summer, hands down. Cat and Meghan journeyed to us for the evening, and we all danced our hearts out while crying tears of joy at the Beyonce and Jay-Z concert. With just a few hours together, we stayed up chatting ’til the wee hours of the morning, despite the demands of the following day. #worthit #always
