Paying It Forward

We’re on the last leg of a short week before the long weekend is upon us. I am so excited for 4 days filled with lots of friends and family time. But, before we sign off for the weekend, I wanted to share a lovely occurrence that happened to me this morning.

I was meeting a friend for coffee and took off (running late, of course) and grabbed my Starbucks Card and nothing else. I had one of those moments of panick as I entered the store because I realized I hadn’t re-loaded my card lately. I checked my app and the balance told me I had enough for my usual bevvy, so I ordered it and handed over my card to pay…Oops! I was short 68 cents. (Apparently, the app is not trustworthy all the time). Before I could even attempt to explain/flag down my friend to scrounge up some chump change/cancel my order, the gentleman behind me stepped in and took care of it. No hesitation and “no big deal” he said. I was so, so appreciative and thanked him profusely.

Thank you

I know that people have undertaken this type of random act of kindness before. We’ve all heard about the Tim Horton’s drivethrough trend that swept the nation over the past few years. And it’s just so amazing. There are a lot of crazy and scary things happening in the world, but I’m a firm believer that the good outweighs the bad. So, thank you to the kind stranger who showed me the good this morning. A short exchange and this small gesture has made my day and I can’t wait to pay it forward this weekend. I hope you’ll join me in spreading a little joy this weekend.

Happy Easter, nuts!
