When I saw SJP wearing this Louis Vuitton Spring 2012 dress at the UNICEF Snowflake Ball a few days ago, it made me search, browse and covet all things feathered. Earrings, minis, headbands, purses and dresses; it’s safe to say that there isn’t exactly a shortage of plume-adorned items out there.
I’m prone to wearing feather head pieces and I think it’s about time I integrate this infatuation into other areas of my wardrobe. Feathers can be chic for night, whether colored, black or white; they add a lovely je ne sais quois to your hem or to an otherwise ordinary clutch. During the day, feathers infuse a major cool factor to any jean/t-shirt combo and there are some great feathery winter accessories out there for us bone-chilled Canadian folk. Most of all though, quills are so ideal for the holidays. Ditch the LBD or glittery top and switch it up with a cute feather-lined skirt and opaque tights for the office Christmas party. Add a blazer and some statement accessories, you’ve got yourself a winning holiday look… in a nutshell.
