Happy Monday, folks! Hopefully you woke up on the right side of the bed and are geared up for the week ahead. I’m launching a new feature on the ‘shell today: a roundup of all of the things… No two weekends are alike for us, so Mondays are the perfect opportunity to share what we’ve been up to and some fun things we’ve seen bouncing around online.
This past weekend was a busy one for the nuts. Catherine was travelling for work while Kate and I celebrated one of our bestie’s birthdays. Besides some top notch food at Pure Kitchen and Fauna, we also got to take in the sights at Ottawa’s newest rooftop lounge, Copper, located on the sixteenth floor of Andaz Boutique Hotel in the Byward Market. The views of the city are spectacular and the lounge has a great vibe. Highly recommended before it gets too cold out!
5 Rules for Hosting a Crappy Dinner Party. Imagine having all your friends over without having to clean or plan and execute a special meal. Cheap wine + simple food + good company sounds like perfection to me.
18 Creepy True Crime Podcasts That’ll Keep You Up At Night. I love podcasts for when I’m driving and taking long walks with the pup. While I’ll always stay faithful to classics like This American Life, I do love a good murder mystery. Some of these sound so creepy, but it’s almost October so we might as well embrace it!
Amal Clooney is Bringing a Case Against ISIS. Some very poignant quotes from this bad-ass lady/human rights lawyer in this article. I love her passion for justice and just had to share.
Maki Me Happy. The shade from Essie’s Fall 2016 nail colour line up that I have on my “NEED” list. Pretty excited to switch out my summer brights for winter darks, not going to lie.
Eat and Vote. There’s still a few days left to vote for En Route’s Best New Restaurant of 2016. We’ve talked about both of the restaurants that have been nominated from Ottawa: Fairouz and Datsun. Make sure to give them some votes before Friday’s deadline!
Closer (Walk Off The Earth Cover). This guilty-pleasure song by the Chainsmokers is taking over the world. Canada’s own Walk Off The Earth did an insane cover of it that will definitely brighten your mood this morning!
