Mere weeks after tragedy unfolded at Ottawa’s War Memorial, Remembrance Day had an emotionally poignant significance in the capital this year. Unable to make it downtown for the ceremony, Catherine ventured to pay her respects later that evening. Placing her poppy among the thousands that gathered on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier was a powerful moment of personal reflection and of national pride.
This week, Meghan did something she’s been longing to do for years – take in a Toronto Maple Leafs hockey game with her Dad. Her Dad, who is lovingly nicknamed “Big B”, had her cheering for the Leafs from the time she was in diapers. Finally taking in a game together was really special and so much fun (especially since they defeated the Sens 5-3 #goleafsgo)!
She didn’t really need another watch, but Jess has been loving her new Daniel Wellington time piece. These days, there’s something so simple and lovely about checking the time on your wrist, and leaving your email-flooded phone in your pocket.
The Ottawa Wine and Food show is always a highlight for Kate and this week she got to spend the evening with some of Ottawa’s finest. Dressed to the nines, with flowing wine and many good laughs, this peak is just a glimpse into the booze filled evening.
It’s as though a switch has been turned on, and suddenly the brisk weather is upon us. I’m thankful I spent some time early this week enjoying the warm fall weather in one of my favourite places in the city, which just happens to be a few steps from my front door, beautiful Trinity Bellwoods Park.
Have a fabulous weekend, nuts!
