If you’ve followed the blog for a while, you know that there’s pretty much nothing I won’t try when it comes to beauty products. I’ve luckily not struggled too much with my skin over the years, and while part of that is thanks to good genes (thanks Mom!) I also do the best I can to look after my skin. Prone to more dry skin, I am a big believer in deep moisturizing products and over the last few years, I’ve also become more interested in face care that targets anti-aging. So when Mira-Skin reached out to see if I would be interested in trying their ultrasound system, I obviously jumped at the chance.
As much as I love my beauty products, I’ve never really invested in anything besides topical creams, scrubs and other products of that nature for at home skin care treatments. I also had no idea how ultrasound could be beneficial. What I learned is that ultrasound consists of light air oscillations that are barely felt on the skin. These oscillations scrub and open the skin while transporting vital substances directly into the deepest layers. For up to thirty minutes after the treatment, the skin remains especially receptive. All that to say – ultrasound basically cleans and exfoliates the skin, opening the pores up and making it possible for those creams that I love so much to work even better.
They sent along everything I needed to try it out:
- Hyaluronic Serum: to apply before using the ultrasound treatment. This serum supplies the skin with valuable nutrients and anti-oxidants for optimal hydration, including collagen, vitamin E, Omega 3, Vitamin A, CoQ10, Frankincense and Alpha Hydroxy Acid.
- Ultrasound Conductive Gel: helps the ultrasound to glide easily over your skin
- Mira-Skin Ultrasound: the ultrasound itself
After trying it out a few times, I can honestly say that I have noticed a difference in the way my skin has felt. Although you don’t feel or here the ultrasound working its magic, after I’ve finished the treatments and applied my moisturizers (Nutraganics Drops of Youth + Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream) my skin has felt SO good. The dry feeling that I sometimes experience a few hours after applying my moisturizers is eliminated on the days that I use this treatment and my skin feels and looks lighter and brighter.
