Somehow, every year around this time, I forget how cold it gets in the great Canadian north. Is it just me, or does it take several weeks to re-adjust and recall that our climate is not sweater-optional? The cold makes us all switch up the routine, put away the cotton T-shirts, and dust off the heavy wools. We’re left with no choice but to layer up and keep on living.
So, how is it that after 25 years of this transition, that I still feel totally unprepared for the winter, and totally unwilling to commit? My wardrobe matches my state of mind, providing no great options, it seems, for cute transitional outfits that keep me cozy. This is why, like so many others, I am currently craving piles and piles of heavy knits, at great prices, no less…
