Pet Peeve of the Week

Subject: Shady Blogger

The topic of this week’s pet peeve is near and dear to all of our hearts here at inanutshell. This collaboration blog came about after a group of friends realized that they all wanted a creative outlet to share their thoughts on a variety of topics. We invest our time in our work and take pride in the pieces that we produce. Unfortunately, this past week, Kaylee was forced to deal with a blogger who has no ethics, no creativity, and quite clearly, no brains.

This blogger, who shall remain nameless (as I don’t want to generate ANY traffic for her website) completely ripped off all the hard work that Kaylee has done for her personal blog. Not only did ‘she who shall not be named’ take all the pictures that Kaylee created, but she took her writing, changed the titles and posted Kaylee’s complete pieces of work as her own.

For bloggers, this is a cardinal sin. Inspiration comes from a myriad of places, and building upon the work of others is inevitable, but there is a BIG difference between inspiration and theft. (Not that ‘she who shall not be named’ could grasp that concept. She quite clearly proved her density by being confused as to WHY Kaylee was upset. It’s a little concept called ‘Intellectual Property’…look it up.)

This specific blogger, aka the ‘oompa-loompa’ (Seriously sweetheart, quit it with the tanning – you’re worse than Snooki) should NOT blog. What’s the point of blogging if you have nothing to say? What’s the point in having a personal blog if the content is not created by the person? I just can’t wrap my head around it. I’m thinking the hours she’s spent fake-and-baking has seriously affected her cognitive processes.

The upside to this week’s ‘serious’ pet peeve (besides the fact that I got to spam her website with hate-mail) is that now we have a chance to make a promise to you, readers. We here at inanutshell promise to NEVER engage in the despicable behaviour that ‘she who shall not be named’ did. We promise to continue delivering original work that reflects upon our personal experiences and our favourite things. And finally, we promise NEVER to engage in enough tanning that to fry our brains…in a nutshell.
