And the Bro with the best Mo is ……………

Readers, you’ve gone and done it again.

You’ve humbled us in the best way.

The 2013 edition of our Nuts for Your Mo’ Bro hilarious moustache competition blew us away with the overwhelming support you all showed.

After carefully selecting the top 30 staches the nation had to offer, compiling them into a collage that was equal parts hideous and amazing, and then carefully monitoring all of our social media platforms to ensure extra points were going to the right mos, we have a winner.

HUGE congratulations going out to:1477962_10152060077697490_433079973_n

 BRAD DOYLE!

Brad took an early lead when he turned to his large social network to garner some extra support. The Instagrams, Tweets and posts starting flying at us in support of Brad’s respectable pair of handlebars. With votes coming in from all corners, he managed to secure nearly 35% of the vote!

“I’ve participted in Movember for the past three years, as my fraternity always puts together a team,” explained Brad.

“But, the real reason I participate is that I lost my mom to cancer and regardless of the type of cancer, I feel that any way to fight the disease is really important to support.”

In a nutshell, we couldn’t think of a more deserving contestant.

With our donation putting him over the $400 mark, Brad’s team was able to raise over $1,650 and contributed to the larger Carleton University team which, so far, has tallied almost $39,000.

I can assure you there are five pretty proud Carleton alumni hiding behind this screen at the moment. Way to go, Ravens!

One of the reasons in a nutshell has decided to support Movember over the years is because we love thinking outside the box and finding creative ways to get people involved. Movember has done just that and has done an outstanding job of raising awareness and funds for a worthy cause. Prostate cancer has affected my own family and because of that I know a disease cannot be defined by gender, age or nationality. If your loved one is affected, so are you. So a big hats off to all and any that decided to participate in Movember this year, in whatever capacity they could.

From all the girls at in a nutshell, I’d like to give a sincere and heartfelt thank you to all participants and voters.

Once again, congratulations to Brad & your amazing team of supporters. A donation of $250 will be made to your MoSpace this afternoon, courtesy of your five favourite nuts.

Honourable mentions:

Ryan Dube gave a valiant effort and almost stole the win from Brad in the final days! Your friends and family did a super job making sure the nuts were aware of their support. Congrats to the whole team behind that marvelous moustache.

Dave Tapiero should be proud of his third place standing. He was early out of the gates as a leader and has been a long-time supporter of in a nutshell. For that, and for the truly remarkable ‘stache your face bravely sported for the entire month, we salute you.

One last, big round of applause for Brad Doyle and for all the courageous souls who took part in the Movember MOvement.
