Toronto Fashion Week’s Most Memorable Looks

Vawk: Designer Sunny Fong showed a collection rich in hard leathers and deep blacks, but this magenta look stood out with its impeccable tailoring, bold colour and beautiful execution. I would wear this in a heartbeat.

Pink Tartan: With a magical feel and an oh-so relevant 60s aesthetic, this Spring collection put the “Pink” back in “Pink Tartan.” Pastel-dipped hair, voluminous skirts and mini, tilted hats made Kimberly Newport-Mimran’s execution a stand out among the rest.

Evan Biddell: After a two year hiatus, Evan of Project Runway Canada showed a short collection this season, with looks that married Asian influences with fierce animal prints. This dress is incredibly unique, with leather detailing, delicious material and eye-catching illusions.

Lucian Matis: Another alumni of Project Runway Canada, Lucian Matis infused elaborate prints and bold textures to his Spring 2013 collection. Reminiscent of a Mediterranean Dolce & Gabbana ad, this look transcends time and surely makes for a memorable moment.

Joe Fresh: This brand, a favourite among many, continues to push the boundaries of conventional street fashion by enlivening wearable silhouettes with contemporary trends. This metallic skirt and eyelet-adorned top were picture perfect on the Spring runway in my books.
