The Little Black …Shoe.

We all know of the infamous LBD, the Little Black Dress, the go-to outfit for any cocktail-attending, 9-to-5 working, or sidewalk strutting lady. The Little (or quite large, if you’re lucky like me..) Black Shoe is a less popular topic of discussion, but arguably a more all-encompassing staple that every woman owns and consequently wears to death. While I love a bright red flat or an electric blue pump, there’s nothing more practical and classic, than a black shoe.
When it comes to the important purchases, such as bags and shoes, I always go for long-term wearability, rather than trendy and cheap. Investing in shoes that will keep you stable and blister-free is important, and opting for a colour and style that will transcend time is sure to keep your feet, your style, and your wallet happy.

The Flat
The flat is an LBS at its most classic. Model Anja Rubik wore a pair with a sheer maxi at the Paris Couture shows last week. Flats are comfortable, timeless and perfect with jeans or a sundress. You’ll find this lovely bow-adorned pair on sale now at Zara.

The Clog
The clog is more of a trendy LBS. It’s not always in style, but for right now the clog is perfectly matched with shorts and a blouse like the street styler below. You can even wear clogs well into Fall with flared jeans and your favourite worn-in Tee. My pick for a black clog is on sale now for an astonishing $27.00 at Revolve.

The Strappy
A summer staple for sure, the strappy LBS is your go-to for everyday activities. This summer I’d opt for the gladiator, a style that you can’t go wrong with. Others prefer an elegant T-strap, and that works perfectly too! The pair I would go for look comfy, versatile and stylish, get them here.

The Bootie
While the bootie LBS is more of a fall staple, it can also be reinvented for more of a summer-night-out look. Do what blogger Nicole Warne of Gary Pepper Vintage did below, and pair your sky-high booties with leather shorts and and a long sleeve. Your nearest Browns has my pick for a hot platform bootie. The Pump
The pump is the LBS at its most versatile. Worn like model Chanel Iman with jeans, or paired with a cocktail dress for nighttime, this shoe should be found in every girl’s closet. Patent is the best in my opinion, as it doesn’t tarnish and always looks polished, but if you’re not feeling it, opt for softer leather or suede! You’ll find my classic pick here. It’s no secret that shoes are every girl’s obsession, so I may or may not have a few LBS styles of my own. Here are just a few…

If you’re on the hunt for some new shoes, consider what you have already, and always keep in mind that a little black shoe will match just about anything in that closet of yours, I’m convinced you won’t regret it… in a walk-in-shoe-closet-included nutshell.
