Best of Fall/Winter 2013 (Part 1)

With Milan Fashion Week just wrapped following New York and London, and Paris Fashion Week kicking off today, high fashion is at its peak amidst Fall/Winter 2013 collections. It can be mind boggling to browse the looks by the hundreds, so here are some initial “Bests” …with many more to come!

Best Use of Colour

From entire collections inspired by a bright shade, like Dolce&Gabbana’s scarlet finale, to colour blocking reinvented by 3.1 Phillip Lim, colour was varied this season, with cool and warm hues in the mix.
Best Sunglasses

Major cat eyes at Tory Burch, exaggerated aviators at Moschino and (my fave) perfectly circular and dark as can be at 3.1 Phillip Lim, the F/W 13 collections gave us eye candy in its truest form.

Best Use of Florals

Fall certainly is not the floral season, but many designers took to nature’s colourful product for print mixing and 3D renditions. Erdem brought florals to the cooler season with darker tendencies and Jenny Packham gave us a soft look that was purely feminine.

Best True Ready-to-Wear

Editors have long described collections as “refreshing”, but to me, the truly refreshing comes to fruition when I can see myself in the outfit on that catwalk. Ready-to-wear is far from apparent in many collections, but there are always those few looks that you know will inspire your everyday routine.

Best of Cara

Miss Cara Delevingne, with her signature brows and flawless fair skin, has been the IT girl for quite some time. This season, she is on almost every catwalk, strutting her stuff in trench coats, prints, with a 70s fringe and later, voluminous curly locks. This girl is truly versatile, and a knockout… to say the least.
